My idea is a very stable platform that can be linked together with others to form a train in the ocean. This lets you have a community for safety, fun, trade, or work. Could have 10 boats with only the first needing someone on watch. Linking boats together further increases their stability. If their is another boat attached to your front and back then your front and back can not go up and down so easy. If you are close behind another boat and in its wake the water is more smooth. We have made 3 models of 5 foot each and linked them together and it seems to work well. Make one model an autonomous solar robot using my cell phone and a bluetooth relay controller. We will make larger and larger versions till we can live on them, sometime in the next 5 years. See this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=qmhh-XrCvtk

The sea snake wave energy machine used a series of pontoons linked end to end, and they had many problems with the links breaking apart. I believe this is because the links didn't allow for changes in length as the coupling pass a crest or trough. This would be apparent if you draw a couple of linked modules to scale, and a couple angled at 40 degrees to each other as a crest goes under, and compare the horizontal distance the two drawings occupy. Linking the tubes together rigidly with simple hinges, to enhance stability, will generate very high stresses during waves.
